Keep Your Spirits Up!

Updated: Jul 16, 2021

Life can be a struggle and more so in uncertain times. We hear of so many cut-backs and of thousands of people being laid off. The media has more "bad news" articles than ever before and it seems that this will never end.

During times like these, we must keep going and we need to keep our spirits up even if we feel it would be easier to just give up.

No matter what you’re going through in life, know that it will not stay the same . There is always hope for tomorrow.

Some ways in which you can keep your spirits up:

  • Keep in touch with family and friends. Practice some face time if you can’t visit. Too much time alone is not good for your mental health.

  • Stimulate your mind - Learn a new skill or challenge yourself to do better.

  • Consider getting a pet – they make good companions or volunteer to walk an elderly person's dog. Spending time in nature with a pet will help, plus there is the additional benefit that you are lending a hand.

  • Exercise – you will feel better about yourself and will stay fit.

  • Maintain a positive mindset - tomorrow will be better. Be optimistic and practice humor.

  • Get enough sleep – all the points above will help. Here are some tips for sleeping well and to calm your mind.
