Promises Made...Promises Broken

It is easy to make a promise as words spoken can be done lightly; but difficult to uphold and keep. Promise what you can keep and do, not what you will not be able to keep and do.

A promise is a sacred vow to keep your word.

When you keep a promise, you are being true to yourself; you have worth and support the people that are dear to you. Keeping your promises will attract others to you as well as you will be known to your friends as one that is sincere and trustworthy.

This is the kind of friend we all wish we had and are few and far between.

Below, you will find a list of broken promises sayings and quotes...

Richard Paul Evans

“When you have a dream and someone makes promises they keep breaking, it is hard to recover. You lose hope.”
Yasmine El Rashidi
“Far too often, the best thing I can have in my hand when someone makes a promise is a really big broom so that I can sweep up the broken pieces.”
Craig D. Lounsbrough
“One can talk good and shower down roses, but it's the receiver that has to walk through the thorns, and all its false expectations.”
Anthony Liccione
“Maybe I've got to be sufficiently broken by life's many broken promises to be sufficiently compelled to seek out God's unbreakable promises.”
Craig D. Lounsbrough
Promises mean everything, but after they are broken, sorry means nothing.
Unknown
When a man takes an oath... he's holding his own self in his own hands. Like water. And if he opens his fingers then - he needn't hope to find himself again.
Robert Bolt
"We must not promise what we ought not, lest we be called on to perform what we cannot."
Abraham Lincoln
