Winter - A Time For Comfort

In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.
― Albert Camus

Winter... I hate the way the cold seeps right to my bones, the way it seems that nature is like a black and white photo with all the colour bleached out. I like sun and warm weather. I like looking around and seeing colours, green trees, birds, flowers blooming... These speak out to me and warms my soul.

Winter reminds me that soon it will be Spring and that makes me happy. It makes me appreciate that life has both ups and downs just like the seasons and that life changes. It makes me appreciate what I have in the now and then while it is winter and hope, always hope that tomorrow brings with it something better.

There are many lessons that can be learnt from Winter. It can teach us perseverance, resilience, gratitude and patience among many other life lessons.

May the quotes below resonate with you and help you appreciate Winter.

What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape — the loneliness of it; the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show.
―Andrew Wyeth
Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence. Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance. Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence. Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.
—Yoko Ono
All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.
